You all heard, read and reposted when we started the journey of SANTA IN TOWN 3.0. probably you didn’t see or hear about it, Abivahfoundation has in three years down the line organized a sensational Christmas party, for the kids in the rural areas of oyo state. 

We don’t just pick the location, we are deliberate and always intentional in whichever location we are picking, 

Their must be a need there

There must be the people that really matters to us there (less privileged children). 

Of course everybody matters, but it is our utmost desire that every kid should experience a fantastic and memorable Christmas. But just as the saying “a step at a time” we took our feeble step in December 2017, and since then we have never looked back. Courtesy of your support and contributions. 

  It was such a great anticipation, exactly like the ones we have always had in our previous outreaches. Weeks to the event, we secured the most preferred location, where our gifts and resources is eminently needed.

 “Praise announced to the group members, location secured, let the planning begin” 

I should tell you that Praise is one of the wonderful and dedicated volunteers of Abivahfoundation, and with the leading of God, she led the way for Abivahfoundation to the interiors on LANNIBA IBADAN.  (don’t forget to drop a thank you for all our wonderful volunteers too, we love them). 

  The planning, processing and logistics began, and it seems as though the event wasn’t going to be possible at some point, 

            Kilode? Ko si funds. 

We devised a change in plan, unkown to us, that God who knows the end from the beginning, wasn’t only planning for the kids alone this time around, he intentionally included their parents in the Christmas gifts.

 (who knows maybe some parents somewhere had prayed that God should surprise them this season, and God looked at the tools in His hands, lo and behold, Abivahfoundation was available).

   We had initially planned a christmas party like we have always done, but this time, God said its moving from a restricted Christmas party, to an Everybody’s Happy Family Party.  

  We got everything ready towards the 21st of December. From the Bag of Rice, to Groundnut oil, to toiletries, to other gifts, and of course to our BIG RADIATING SMILE, so contagious as it is. 

    Special thanks to our crew who scouted the whole bodija market, amidst the hustle and bustle of the market, to ensure that we have all these things purchased before the big day. 

    Just like everyother day, December 21st 2019 came. Were we nervous? Well maybe. It is a location none of us has ever been to, but then, duty calls and we must be there. Kudos to our very own Lamda, who was on standby, and guess what!!!, we didn’t just go alone, OUR SANTA CAME THRU!!!!!!

    From homes to shop, street to street, we carry our gifts, alongside the wonderful testimony of Jesus Christ to whoever cares to listen. And just as that scripture that said, as many as them that believed were saved, As many as the homes that welcomed us, were gifted. 

    You need to see the expression on the faces of these children, I have always thought SANTA is only been celebrated and hailed by the children, but forget it, LANIIBA interior settlement proved us wrong. Both young and old welcomed SANTA with open arms and mind. The smile, the happiness on their faces, the joy of salvation, the sense of belonging. I’m sure many kids will boast to their colleagues that FATHER CHRISTMAS VISITED THEM PRIVATELY. (of course, it was their private party with santa).

    As much as we wished we could stay longer, the tick tock of the clock reminded us that we still have a journey to make out of the settlement, and its better we do that quick and early while we can. 

    We journeyed back home with so much excitement, feelings, sense of fulfilment, happiness and thanks to God, who made it a reality. 

    Mary couldn’t hide her joy as she expressed her happiness like the playful somebody that she is. Our very own Abivah Mama, who regardless of her schedule will always make time out to join us in the online, as though she was there physically. I doubt if she missed any moment, or else, mary would have hear am. 

     This line is for our ever dynamic, resourceful and gallant volunteers that were left out of this trip, thanks for your understanding, support and prayers regardless of the impromptu change in plans. We love you so much. Thank you for a wonderful 2019, and cheers to a greater and more fulfilling 2020.
